Enrolment

Singleton Heights Preschool offers a welcoming, culturally safe environment where all children aged 3-6 years engage in a quality two or three day per week educational program. Our daily program runs between 8.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday during school terms. Our license is for 80 children each day through the NSW Department of Education.

Waiting List

You are welcome to place your child’s name on the waiting list at any time, with enrolments for the new year beginning in July. Places can also be offered throughout the year as they become available.

Children eligible for school in the following year

$

Enrolment

If your child is offered a position at Pre-School, enrolment packs are sent out or may be collected. Families are asked to attend an interview at the centre to which they bring completed enrolment forms, Birth Certificate, Immunisation History Statement located on the Medicare website, and any other relevant specialist reports or documentation relating to custody.

You will meet with the Director where information about the Pre-School will be shared and any questions will be answered. You will also be introduced to staff, given a tour of the centre and your child is welcome to join in the activities while visiting. This is a perfect opportunity for you and your child to get to know their new surroundings and for you to ask questions and become familiar with the centre. Upon payment of the Annual Membership Fee, your child will also receive a Pre-School T-Shirt, Cap and Meal Bags.

If desired, further visits will be organised to support the process of your child’s transition to pre-school.

Fees and Charges

The service is a not-for-profit organisation so the fees paid by families help to cover the costs of running the centre. The Department of Education funds the remainder of the centre’s annual budget.

When enrolling your child at the Pre-school for 2024, a $20 Annual Membership fee is payable.

The NSW Government is committed to ensuring that all children in New South Wales can participate in 600 hours of quality preschool education before school, and are providing fee relief funding through the “Early Years Commitment”. This funding is available to all eligible families through the “Start Strong for Community Preschools Fee Relief Program”, and will be passed on to you by the Pre-School as a reduction to your fees.

To be eligible for the fee relief, parents / caregivers are required to complete a declaration form that nominates which service you are choosing to receive your fee relief from. You will also need to complete a consent form, giving the Pre-School permission to share some of your child’s information with the NSW Department of Education, which determines the level of fee relief/funding provided to the Pre-School.

In 2024 Singleton Heights Pre-School are able to provide up to 3 days per week fee-free. This means that no fees are payable for the first three days per week that you child attends Pre-School (conditions apply). The fees for any additional day and for those that do not elect the Pre-School to receive the funding, is $34.20 per day.

The NSW Government subsidises fees through the Pre-School for all families holding a current Health Care or Pension Card. Eligibility for fee subsidy is reviewed during the year to ensure access eligibility and equity for all families.

Children enrolled with diagnosed disabilities or other additional needs may qualify for funding support to the Pre-School. This facilitates inclusion in the Pre-School program by subsidising the employment of additional Inclusion Support Educators.
